I have a Manco go-cart frame, I recently bought a 9hp B&S, and am wondering what is a good, non outrageously expensive, clutch to put in it so to give it power to go fast and still go uphill and off road!

Hello and welcome.. Make sure what ever clutch you buy is rated for a 9hp.. I bought a max torque clutch and demolished it in hours on my 9hp Honda..

The best I had on the bigger hp motors was either a cvt or a race clutch

I've got a basic centrifugal clutch on my Briggs 8hp, works just fine. More important is the gearing, you don't want to be overgeared - that's what kills them.

... that &, being a 9hp, more than likely it will have a 1" shaft as opposed to a 3/4" so, you're gonne have to drop a bundle no matter what way you go...

If you are doing uphills and offroading, I would recommend a TC, but for a 9HP, you are going to have to go with the Comet 40 series TC. It is expensive though. The Comet 30 series is rated for 8HP and under. You could probably push it to 9HP, but you will go through belts a lot faster

What sort of off roading are you thinking of? Just a bit of grass, or will it be serious offroad
