hello everyone...I just got a murray explorer with a tecumseh ohh60 on it...since i have to modify everything i get and build custom vehicles for a living you can expect a plethora of ?'s from me..some may seem stupid so you will have to tolerate me..lol I know nothing about this kart..meaning year or anything else so that will be my first task on starting this project...I am a custom fabricator and work in a professional custom shop..I do custom bodywork,paint,suspension and electrical modifications to just about all kinds of vehicles...so I hope my experience and knowledge will be usefull to some of you just as yours will be usefull to me...This kart is my first kart project ever and i hope to make it xtremely badass..my plans include tweaking the existing engine,,adding full suspesion and adding a charging system with overhead lights and audio system...thanx for listening and i hope i can help out

You sound like a really good mechanic and fabricator but, for your first build you might want to start small and work your way up...but only you know your own skill set.

When you are ready to start the project, start a thread and post up some pics for all of us to see!

I will be sure to start a thread when I get started..right now im just trying to gather as much info as i can on it because im sure ill end up needing a few stock parts..lol..Ive built alot of custom golf carts at the shop..alot of fiberglass work and frame mods,,big tires big stereos and stuff like that..put a harley engine and trans on one of em...it was featured in a magazine but I only got a mention dammit..lol.. the shop owner took alot of the credit but I built the majority of it..but thats how it works ya know...I specialize in electronic engineering..but im more than capable with a welder and such..

Welcome to DIY Adam,
I could offer some advice with your charging system if you post how many amps your lights and stereo will draw. Is your OHH60 an electric start model?
