have race kart, need help though

Can anyone help identify this kart? I obtained it through a trade. It obviously has been modified over the years. I'd like to get the nerf bars back to looking more original. I'm looking for set up dimensions if there are general guidelines. Any info would be appreciated!

Welcome to the site! For most the karts that we BS about around here, we follow the "it's up to you" standard. However for something like that I can see that you might want it back to race standards (or at least looking like it). There's at least one other user that has a race frame right now, I'm sure they'll help you with their dimensions.

For right now, just getting it running would be good. I'm trying to hook up/make a throttle assembly. I made a small bracket on the motor already, but haven't quite figured out the connection from a rod on the pedal to the cable itself. I read through several posts, but haven't see close up pics showing how the cable/spring return/rod assembly to pedal goes. Thanks.

that looks like a kart from the early 70s but other than that i cant tell, but its still a great kart! they last for ever

After I posted originally, I found an old article of a Bug kart and it does resemble that. Either way, it's fun getting it ready to try out.
