Have chosen a frame

Since my engine can't rev to a high rpm or have gears to drag or drift on the road atleast I chose that frame since it's simple and easy to build.

The rear axle will be moved back a few inches and I'll be using a live axle instead of dead with a 5:1 ratio on my soon to be clutchless and ungoverned engine.

By clutchless, do you mean no clutch lever? Or do you mean that this thing won't be able to idle standing still?

because all the the people around me will ask 200 and more for them so why spend that much when I can build it myself for like 50 bucks

How are you planning on starting it?

Push start or it does have an electric starter dude. Reason Im going clutchless is because I can't find anything to fit a 1.5" shaft and all the 1" clutchs I find would burn up on my engine

Yeah I didnt even think of your electric starter, I was just thinking how difficult it might be to get a 750cc/direct drive kart push-started. Theres serveral 1" race clutches that can handle way over 25hp, but they're expensive.

My point exactly and I was thinking of a belt tensioner clutch but I'd be eating up more belts then I can pay for dude.

With a good battery I think the electric starter would probably fire it right up in gear. Starters are geared so high that the aditional load of rolling the kart a few inches isn't all that big of a deal.

Yea it is a heavy engine the starter should be heavy duty

wheel speed vs motor rpm will/may cause it to throw/break the chain...

try it I know a jetski motor on a gokart with NO clutch breaks the chain ALOT and OFTEN

it wont break it unless you are on and off the throttle though slow down real real gradual and you have it whipped.
But you need a clutch or an electric PTO you can engage when you want to take off

I'd imagine his engines gonna be a much lower rpm and hp than a Jet ski powered kart. I got a feeling you guys might of had some type of alignment and/or chain-sprocket issues going on with that kart too. Even if he had a clutch, it'd be all locked down just like a solid gear at anything over 2000 rpm or so anyway.

I'd guess any sprocket gear he finds for this masive pto is gonna be one of the larger/stronger chain types. I could be wrong here but If the gears and chain are perfectly aligned and of good quality and condition, I dont see any reason it should have any more chain issues than running a clutch. (although I agree everyone should run strong chain guards just in case)
