Harbor Freight Engine, to buy or not to buy?

theres a nice engine on sale at HF with electrical start, 6.5HP for only 139 bucks, im wondering if they ship engines to canada.
Im asking anyone who has bought from them online for some help.
How much do you think it would cost to ship it to Brampton, Ontario, Canada?

i tried looking on their site but theirs no Canadian estimates for shipping

That's not electric start there just adding in random "buy me Im good" words. ALL ignition sytems are technically electrical.

Hey, they renamed it from "Central Machinery" to "Greyhound".

Like Jr said, Electronic Ignition isn't "Electric Start". It's just referring to the type of ignition system used to fire the spark plug.

As for your shipping question, I don't know but I suspect it would probably wouldn't be low. I heard that shipping things from the US to Canada gets expensive. I don't know for sure though. Why don't you try giving them a call if you can, or better yet, they have a "Live help" thing on the bottom left hand side of their options. Maybe give that a try and see if you can get some info.

The Harbor Freight website has print out receipts. From there, you can buy the Clone for $97.

actually, they have two different engines at the same price. one is made by 'central machinery' and the other is by 'greyhound'.

i believe they're essentially the same.

Just look on the carburetor. Same name? Same brand.

grey hound is different as far as the carb, goes it has something to do with epa control with the environment look at the picture and read about it in the description.

hmm, only if i can find an engine shop in Canada, the problem is most retailers don't like to post their stuff on the internet, most of the time its all about yellow pages and actually going to the store.

Its a real piss off because i thought i would be able to take an engine from the auto shop and use that, but the other teacher is a Douche and probably wont let me use one.

the engine is made by Tiftan in China a direct Honda rip off, but Honda parts interchange, I bought one last week in Northern Kentucky for $129 on sale gave up another $19 for a two year warrenty, and it doent have electric start, I ve heard all good things about them, Ive ordered a header, carb jets and raceing air filter, and plan on cranking up the RPM'S with out removeing the governor, I will have $200 in the whole thing, much cheaper than $340 for a Honda GX200!
