My neighbor dropped off his kart for me to fix. It is a Hammerhead Twister model um39111 vin ke0601707 with engine 6SHSS 0494 GA EM. He said it worked when it was last parked of course.
Long story short I get no spark. There is no CDI here, just a coil with a ground wire and what I suspect is the kill wire. I removed the kill wire and still no spark. When I ohm the secondary of the coil I get 10.5k ohms. I expected around 2-5k? Can anyone familiar with this setup help me confirm the bad coil? Thanks.

thought I would update this post before starting another about the brake pads....(hint....it needs brake pads and I can't find them to order)
I finally found a new coil and when it came in it measured around 2-4 ohm on the secondary so question answered. it starts and runs fine now (after all the other work) but alas cannot stop due to brakes
hope that helps someone down the road
