Sit back and enjoy the read! I build custom mini houses and or doll houses by kit for kids of any scale you want! Your choice! The custom made houses are built by a drawing,photo or your imagination,your scale and or your idea of an ideal house or structure can be what you want,your choice! I build all of my custom houses from scrap wood,recycled! From the beginning all the pcs are cut down to scale 2x4 2x6 2x8 etc and put together as if its a real house, to your design and or ideas yes it would be the same as if you walk thru ur front door of your own house,its that detailed this includes the flooring,wall studs,rafters,drywall,trim,doors,windows,everything to scale! alot of it will not be visible as its part of the structure itself! but the end result will truly keep you in the amazed state for a while!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you have an imagination and want it to come true, i can make it happen I can make your dream come true in miniature!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! jim

top left is a 1' scale model of a 1920 fire house w working garage doors, next is a 1" scale adobe house w a door and windows that open and close, this a barn,built for a customer as a conversation piece,real barn wood w a working barn door and tin roofing, this is a 1" scale model of how i build my houses from start to finish w accessability in some form or another,next is a 1" scale hexagon house w custom made steel rafters,hand formed tin roofing and 1" or 1' thick rock walls and working window shutters and door

I think the main problem is, that is too far off topic for a go kart forum to draw much attention.

You had mine, but you're making exactly the same mistakes most architectural model makers do.
And that is: perfect small houses with lots of precision and absolutely NO CHARACTER.

That is not a conversation piece, that's just a model of a house
It's like the difference between this diorama:

well done, absolutely no character at all

and this one:

Imperfections, rust, dirt, character.

You would expect someone remounting the beetles wheel any minute now.
THAT makes it a great conversation piece

And fun to look at,
it's okay to fake as long as it looks real;
the other way around it just doesn't work.

Don't get me wrong, great craftmanship I admit that;
but not art if you know what I mean

I never said that you made the dioramas..
but they're a perfect example of my statement.

One clean and with missing "life",
yes much lower standard than what you did.. but as clean and boring
the other one with "imperfections" making it more life-like.
More interesting, something you want to find even more details in,
not the best I've seen but a really good one and well above your standard character-wise

I never said your quality isn't any good.
In fact I wish I had model makers that could achieve what you did there,
back when it was important for me

But if you intend to label it "conversation piece" or "artwork" you're missing the most important part:
character.
Or short

This is what i make. Here is an exact replica to of my sisters house. Cars not to scale just there for looks. Each piece right down to the cobblestones are hand cut and all painting done by hand. On the back and side is actuall vinyl siding from her house. This was the first one that i did. A few more followed this one with more details.
