I have a japanese/chinese?? go kart a friend brought to me saying the kart will start right up and idle fine but dies as soon as you press the gas

It sat for 2 years and all the fuel lines have dry rotted and gummed up the carb completely

I removed the carb and remaining few inches of fuel lines and cleaned all the jets and emulsion tubes

Now...

Can anyone please explain how the vacuum lines and other hoses are supposed to be routed I have browsed google and various sites but cant find a definite answer

Ill take pics and post shortly of the exact parts and lines I am referencing

But in the mean time if someone has a clear concise easy to understand diagram of the fuel system and vac lines that would probably solve my problem

The one on the intake manifold goes to a y on the fuel line coming from as tank.
From fuel tank line there is a Y
One part to manifold other part to gas intake on carb

and what about the fuel pump?

It looks to have a 3/4" hose that goes to a breather and another to exhaust which is also about 3/4"

then it has a 3/16" line that goes somewhere I can post more pics if need be

but the 2nd picture from above is what I am referring to

after further examination I think your link explains my last question

but I still dont understand the larger line on fuel pump and breather

does the breather have a hose on top or its just an elbow as portrayed in 2nd pic

2nd pic the vacuum thingy on the left.................

1 end goes to the air filter box and the other side goes to the front of the engine to a valve cover area next to it and the last small line goes to the carburetor for a vent...............

And on that note i have completely done away with it on my 50cc scooter ! Does not run worse does not run better just less clutter.

How did you do away with it?

Just plug it?

Please let me know, as I'd like to do away with it as well!:cheers2:

Yeah the hose going to the front of the engine i just cut it off and plugged it. The PCV is completely removed.

And then on the small hose just do away with the tee fitting and your done.

I hope you didn't plug the hose coming from the valve cover. That his a breather hose and needs to breathe.

Also that link is suggesting you buy a crankcase vent. And still beed to reroute the tubes. Sounds like more work.

When installing this block off plate, it is highly recommended you purchase one of our case vent tubes. You will need to reroute your carburetor vacuum lines when removing PCV system. May not be legal in your state, please check local laws.

Mounts with existing hardware.

Off road use only.
I copied and pasted that directly from that link. If he doesn't want to vent the case, let him go that route.... When the crank seal blows from too much pressure and the engine quits running, he will wish he had listened.....:roflol:
