Hey guys im new here and could really use some help.First off im going to explain what i got my self into. Alright I got this go-kart/buggy off craigslist, and the guy blew the motor and thought it was a good idea to scrap the motor with out knowing what it was or getting any numbers off of it. The kart says razor z-2150r by vision motorsports. So i narrowed it down to a 150cc gy6 motor. Well heres the problem there is a...*gy6 short case* and a *gy6 long case* i dont know how to find out so was wondering if any of you guys might have the same kart or know how i can find out. Thanks for the help in advanced

What is a difference between short case and long case gy6 and its mounting? Why everyone goes for a long case engine? Short case only fit 10" wheels

The long cases can go to 13" wheels.

Long case stretch out the wheel base more.

10" wheel gy6 engines have got 40cm long drive belt cover
12" wheel gy6 engine have got 43cm long drive belt cover
there are also 46cm long drive belt covers

Best way to check it: take off your drive belt cover and measure it (have a look at the picture i attached)

I knew that. Its just that it doesnt mount to the wheel. It hangs from the frame and has a chain to connect it to the rear axle. It is a horrible setup , and i dont have anything to go off of.

these engine are improvised to be used on all kinds of moteriesed toys: atv, gokart, scooters and buggys. thay are all about the same but are changed a lil depending on its application of use. i have a yerf dog gy6 150 spiderbox buggy and it is set up just like your kart and i have not had any Issues with thay way it is setup.

my engine is a long case. most gy6 engine that are over 50cc are long case engines. yes thay have some power stock but can put out more power with aftermarket parts. all in all i think thay are a good engine other than the electronic chokes thay use on them. sometimes thay can be a pain in the @$$.

Apparently not because he keeps repeating the same thing over and over.

Can you post a pic of your mini buggy?
The long case engines were used on scooters. There are two kinds of short case engines, the GY6 A type and B type.
Also depending on the set up of your buggy some utilize exhaust on the right some utilize the exhaust on the left. Posting pictures always helps.
