Hey guys, new here, I've already posted before but I have a general setup issue... I'm working on a Taota ATK150-A basically just your general cheap Chinese buggy go kart with a 150cc Honda clone motor... I KNOW and I FEEL that this thing is capable of SOOOO much more than it's putting out... I bought a new carb, replaced the main jet to a 130, tuned it between a 122 128.5 and a 130, I can adjust that when I find out if it's running rich or lean... haven't done any intake or exhaust mods, intake was surprisingly not very restricted when I took it apart... just a cheap sponge filter and metal mesh plate, no other restrictions. I am waiting on a wire adapter to plug in a new cdi without the Rev limiter... so here's my thing... I can not get the thing to do better then 20-23 mph... maybe... that's according to the on board speedo... I don't really trust the tach either... but what should I be expecting? I have seen these things with similar setups do 40 out of the box, so to speak, and 60+ with mods... I don't want to go crazy on internal Motor work or anything like that... the gearing on it currently is a 14 tooth and a 35 tooth. Should I increase the small gear or what? I want to be able to play in it, maybe a little off road, nothing crazy, and mainly yard and road... another question is if I am to need to change the gear how do I find out what size to go up to? Chain size tooth size etc... ANY help is welcome... if this thing doesn't prove to pan out I may just hit up the motorcycle junk yard and put a small bike Motor in it... idk... rather not go that route just yet... any help guys? I'll get pictures when I remember to take some hahaha thanks in advanced guys. Sorry if I didn't post this in the right spot...
