My dad has an old Piece of crap motorcycle that the engine is not any good and it got me thinking maybe I could put my 11horse Honda on there and ride that around it probably wouldn't be all that quick but I could at least get some use out of that frame. Could this even work?

What exactly is wrong with the motor? Unless it is completely blown, like rods sticking out the case, it isn't really worth the swap. It would be easier to fix the original motor, if it just "doesn't run".

That would be the slowest ninja ever...Engine is worth rebuilding as long as there are no holes in the case.

Gas got into the engine and it sat for a few years everything is all full of gunk and all 4 carb's aren't any good. And it has a bad clutch and I believe it bent a few valves. We can't really do anything with it being it has a junk title.

Like I said it's not like I want it to race it or anything just something to mess around the neighborhood with. We had thought about restoring everything but it would take too much money to complete it.

No dont wreck it. If all it needs is a bit of engine work then dont put some crap 11hp on there. Fix the engine or buy a new one. It wouldnt cost a lot to rebuild it. You can pick up a second hand ex250 engine (the one used on that motorbike) for about 100-150 bucks second hand. Fix it up and it can be sold for $1000 at the lowest or about $2000 at the highest. I got a ninja rolling chassis out the back as well. I part it out and make heaps off it. Made about $300 just from 3 parts (forks, handlebars, fairing), got about 200 more parts to sell haha.

pretty sweet. too bad i cant get any used machines around. the best i ever found was a riding mower lodged into a swamp, couldnt pull it out though it weighed like 500lbs i was pissed.

sooo... anyways.... buy a rebuild kit and you could possibly be riding in a few months if you take your time.

There are tutorials on youtube for cleaning the carbs. Thats pretty easy to do, just be delicate with it and very clean. I usually lay down a nice clean towel on my bench and then dissassemble. Its easy to see your parts and keeps them from rolling around.

Now the carbs need to be balanced when you put them back on the bike, you can get a carb balancing gizmo but there a bit pricey so its best to borrow a mates or get them balanced at a bike shop or the like. Basically all balancing is is getting all the carbs in sync. Replacing the valves requires a torque wrench, valve compressor and a few other tools, these can be borrowed or bought (you will use them later down the line so keep them safe). You can download a workshop manual off the net which you will need to tear it down. Good luck.

It was just a thought I'm kinda wanting to get something to ride again and Ive been trying to sell the gx340 but haven't found a buyer. Clutches and torque converters are so darn expensive I would just rather have a hf 6.5 motor on a kart.

if i were u id do this:

sell the bike
buy a baja doodle bug
buy a hf 6.5

total price for the two: about $400
you can go about 35mph and with a TC about 50mph

@brendonv
you dont need a valve spring compressor, just 2 people, 2 flathead screwdrivers and a hammer.

one person uses the 2 screwdrivers to push the valve holder to the top then other person hits the valve back in with the hammer. the retainers pop right out. just a little harder to put back in.

I'd fix the bike and use it. It's going to be way better than a doodle bug (no offence meant to doodle bug owners, but c'mon, it's a kawasaki ninja)

from what u described it would only be a solid day to fix maybe less and if u still dont like it when u are finished then sell it making a huge profit
