Hey guys,
We bought a gx270 clone for a log splitter, and it broke it a week. Were replacing it so Im going to try to fix it up and put some race parts on it. I might sell it or find a little street kart to put it on for myself. My question is, what kind of mods do people do to these? I know air filter and header etc. But are there any cams out there? I want to do cams and a billet rod and just a k&n replacement for the stock air filter with an open air box. Quiet is key for me and a lot of other people so unfortunately the exhaust will probably be left as it is. But do you guys know where I can find any of this? Ive looked and cant find anything billet for the 270! Thanks for any links or help.

NR racing has some GX270 performance parts: http://www.nr-racing.com/270raceparts.htm

You'll find more GX270 performance info in this search link: http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4DMUS_enUS221US222&q=GX270+race+kart

This site has a RLV race kart silencer (Part# RLV 4110) designed for Briggs World formula motors raced in Canada: http://www.out2win.com/catalog/exhaust_ohv.html (evidently they have more strict noise level standards) I actualy ran across a dude here that ran one of these, his kart was quiet and it still ran pretty darn quick.

Thanks! I found a genuine Honda rod for only 25 bucks so if any billet ones dont show up, I guess thats my next best choice. Hopefully nothing really big is wrong with it so I can mess around and learn a little. Ill post up some build pics etc. when I get it.
