Yesterday Red Beard's Garage posted a video about modifying a a GX200. Guy sent Greg an actual Honda to modify for a drift trike. Other than clearancing issues, there's an issue with the crank and cam timing. Turns out, Honda potentially changed the timing of their engines. Greg suspects it's due to all the clone builds, my best guess would be because of small engine emission regulations changing.

Regardless, something to potentially keep in mind if you're wanting to modify a Honda engine.

Very informative, thanks for sharing it on the forum as we may have otherwise missed it. :cheers2:

There also might be specific aftermarket camshafts that might have this problem already solved. One would have to contact companies and find out for sure.

Also not sure what year this particular engine is, let alone what years this started. Might just be engines of the last 5 years, no idea. Just figured people should know incase they did want to run a real GX and not a clone.
