gx200 flywheel on a predator 212

i've read the gx200 flywheel can be made to fit the 212 with some machine work.. can anyone specify exactly what that machine work is?

(interested in giving a predator 212 charging capabiltiy)

the taper cone needs to be recut to fit the predators crankshaft taper.

BUT IIRC the predator flywheel uses the same taper as the Kohler flywheel...
Soooo maybe you just want to reach into the Kohler shelf instead ;)

It is said that you can't put a non rotaderp flywheel on a rotaderp.
I hate when people say things cannot be done.
FWIW, I did it, and have well over 3 or 400 miles on my baja with it, no problems.

Well I'll bet you I can do between two and three hundred push ups in under 55 seconds.

Its a bar trick. Find a mark, bet them $50 you can do between "two" and "three hundred" pushups. Get down, and count them out. One, Two, Three,.... Then stand up and grab the $$$. When they look at you mad as all heck, repeat what you said. "I can do between TWO and THREE HUNDRED.

Three pushups is clearly between TWO and THREE HUNDRED.

I don't know the taper but ARC say's it the same as the Kohler CH270 engine, wonder why the changed this one ? :huh:

So does anyone know the pred stock crank or kohler flywheel taper?....

so the info floating out and about is:

1st gen and non hemi has a different taper than the hemi

Hemi predator engines have the same flywheel taper as the kohler engines.... It also has a larger cam journal, which leads to others saying things will 'fit' that shouldn't.

To top it all off, some engine builders will take clone cranks and put them in predator engines and vice versa. Some cranks are machined to the flywheel taper and vice versa.

I can get my metric bolts to fit in US/Imperial nuts too... doesn't mean they actually fit.... Im sure you could get the flwheel on there, its just a matter of how much contact area you will have, and wether or not the flywheel will sit at a true 90 degrees to the PTO. So possibility of wobbling, spinning, and less friction between the flywheel and crank would exist with the wrong taper, which can lead to what, vibrations, flywheel coming loose, sheared key, eh who knows.
