ok i got a decent day in

i didnt get much done but it was productive

i got the bottom engine mounts done

right

left

i goota weld the properl\y when i get more stuff off

it turns out i have the same brake caliper as bluezone was talking about

anyhow i started looking at the brakes and came up with a couple of ideas to present oh yeah the left one is the front brakes

i can push the brake boxs this close together and im thinking ill keep both pedal but either use a cable to connect the two so the front brake pull the rear brakes
or connect the front brake pedal to the bar and use some type of arm to push the rear brake
itll work so the front brakes activate both but the rears can activate independant so i can use the pedal i m liking to jab first to slow down in a hurry but if i find i wanna get the rear to slide for what ever reason i can do that

i rekon the cable has got to be the cheapset idea yet but i dont know about reliability if it snaps it wont matter and if it seizes i still have the rear brake

i also made a bracket to muont the winch on the back of the buggy so i can get it on the back of the ute

yes i know i should have mounted the winch on the ute
but i dont have anywhere that i can easerly get a full turn of the handle so the back of the buggy is the best option

it is easy to take on and off
i dont like the look of it to be honest but itll do

ha wow i forgot about this thread wouldnt find it had to do a seach

well iv advanced quite a bit

got the seat in got most of the engine wireing done

radiator in

front brakes in

to do
connect the driver to the engine (cables electrics and so on
insall fuel tank
finish wiring (PITA
get em running (add oil bleed brakes
testing and adjusting (see how long before i break it
then back to the start for panel and paint

i have been to a couple of the local club events (races )

and ll i can say is there is no such thing as over engineering
the races are very hard and costly on these machines

the event starts which all 20 buggies, the races are run as an illimination set up 6 at a time

by the end of the event 15 buggies are out
some from simple wiring issues
some with frame damage, suspension is the first to go the heim joints shatter easerly
and usually there are a couple with clutch and transmission failure

Very cool. Keep us posted. I've been drooling over piranhas for 5 years. I found a unfinished build w/2 engines in the middle of Kansas USA but its 3,500 american. It'd prob cost a lot more to finish. Too expensive for me.
