Looks like a death trap to me! If you do get it going, be VERY careful! That frame, and the rest of that kart, were never meant to handle that horsepower.

I'd say you just bought a gixxer motor for $300. i wouldnt trust that frame. Been there done that, i put a 400cc kawasaki air cooled motor in a similar frame and it was wayyy to much. bent axles, bad handling. Very fast tho. couldnt begin to imagine a gixxer.

get a buggy from and put the gixxer on there. putting a gixxer on a kart like that wont be any fun. you'll burn through your tires, and youll kill yourself. good luck!

Are u sure that's a 600

Do u know what year it is
It is quite important as the wiring changes between models

Get a model number off it

Iv got a 600 but that looks bigger
And the starter is on the wrong side
U may have a 1000

That frame is a death trap with out a doubt
U gotta ask why someone would sell a $1200 engine in a fully functioning kart for $300
Probs because it's undriveable

How much of the wire do u have?

Iv recently gone though the pain of wireing an 07 model GSXR 600 into a buggy so it's quite. Fresh in my head
It's quite simple when u wrap your head around it

Thanks fowler I have all of the wiring harness but the guy didn't give me a lot of the sensors. Do u know which ones are necessary for the bike to run? And there are some loose cut wires on the harness that I still have to track down but the guy told me its a 04-05 Gsxr 600. And also the frame is very solid the whole rear end is pretty much solid steel

I understand that the frame is reinforced. but i stand by my statement. i would not drive that thing. Too narrow, too much weight in the back. its a death trap. find a buggy for that motor.

I couldn't tell u which sensors ain't required but all is best

U must bypass the side stand switch otherwise it won't start
U must install a clutch switch otherwise the ecu will use a neutral map and run with less power (not like u have a power issue)

U must bypass the ignition switch
U must have the tip over sensor, its hard to bypass and it's good to have in the event of a tip over

the O2 sensor is also reqired as it will mess with the ecu
the gear position sensor should be a 3 pin plug coming out of the L/H side of the trans case

the cam shaft postion sensor is in the rocker cover
the oil level sensor

the speedo sensor is in the drive gear case but thats not required

here is a wiring diagram for my K7
this should still apply just check some colours on your engine on circuits u can identify
there is also a pic of how to bypass the ingnition and side stand
(made by camel from the wa superlites, local genius with everything from wiring to machining)

find the colours of the cut wires and open plugs and post them back here so we came help
dont forget some plugs are for lights and some may be for a thermo fan if he didnt use the origonal circuit

on the frame i also dont like it at all
for that frame a 250 is huge let alone a 600 sports bike
id find a buggy or build one
look into edge buggies
www.edge.au.com
and badland buggies
http://www.badlandbuggy.com/
iv put the gsxr600 k7 into a piranha edge buggy

qj8f,
I'd really like to see more pics showing the front-end of your kart. Because I cant tell if it started out as an older (high-quality) racekart-chassis, or some crappy fun/yard-kart model that just kinda looks like a vintage racekart... And that might make a big difference!

The guys here have gave you some really good info, but I'd also suggest you post you questions/pics at
this other forum: http://www.gixxer.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=241

Some of those guys at that forum are very knowledgeable about the electronics, and I found quite a few other GSXR powered go kart threads in that section of their forum. They seem to be totally cool/helpful with guys posting GSX-powered kart threads/asking questions in that forum-section

Holy cow buddy, that frame is way to light weight to handle that motor. It will snap it right in half, you need atleast one and a half inch tubing with a wall thickness of about quarter inch. See my build log of my yamaha 550 engine in go cart, the frame is built heavy duty with alot of bracing around motor to handle all the stress. Be safe and smart, good luck

The rear of the frame holding the motor and axle is almost solid steel it's a really heavy I shouldn't have a problem, and I just ordered a way heavier duty axle f

u are asking far too much of a simple setup

u really need a space frame with a roll cage

dont forget this kart is proberbly similar weight to the origonal bike and the gearing looks similar

assuming u can get grip this thing will hit 260kph before u realise u have the throttle pressed
and itll spin the tyres in all gears at any point in the rev range
the frame and controls really aint built for that
