Pretty straightforward. Have you identified which screw it it? Look for the one on the carb that the throttle butterfly comes to rest against when at idle. There may or may not be a cap or cover on the screw's head. If so, you'll have to remove it. Turn CW to increase idle speed, CCW to decrease idle speed.

That would be the throttle plate in the carb- the round disc that regulates the amount of air allowed to enter. In this case, I'm referring to the (probably) black plastic arm that the governor rod connects to on the carb- moving it back and forth speeds and slows the engine. Anyhow, that plastic "arm" rests against the point of a screw (again, probably black plastic). That's the throttle stop.

Okay- have a look here. This is my clone carb. Yours will probably look a wee bit different, partially because I have made some modifications to the stock configuration. See the black plastic screw with the + head right in the middle of the pic? That's your idle speed screw. The orientation of the picture is facing the rocker cover, seen to the left (viewing from the "back" of the engine.)

Ok, I got that. Do you want to screw to be touching the throttle all the way in or not touching at all?

Sorry this engine is really confusing me!

first put your gocart frame on a concrete block or something to raise the rear tires off the ground.

Start the engine, find the screw and turn it to the left to idle it down, and listen for a good idle.

Tires will spin with them in the air, after its idled down set it on the ground and see if it still takes off.

Kill it and make sure it will restart easily with the idle down, i allways have to full choke my clone to start it, hot or cold.

BTW, does anyone know what size and pitch the idle screw is? My daughters clone idle screws head is broken off.

do you start the engine in turtle or in rabbit when idling it.

when your setting idle pull/push the lever to the slowest engine speed position possible, this will be turtle.

You might want to post some pics of your throttle setup, im not understanding why you are asking if the lever needs to be in rabbit or turtle, bc when on a kart or on my karts this lever is either bypassed or like on my daughters kart i have a spring to hold the lever in the turtle position and the throttle cable pulls the other direction on the lever to give it gas.

It seems like you are controlling it by hand? Please explain
