Hello, my name is james, im from los angeles california. Im chinese and i work as a sweat shop manager. Im 22 years old with some free time on my hands. Just recently i saw my lawn mower sitting around and we dont use it to cut grass, since we have other people that does that for us. I thought it would be a great project to build a go kart, somewhat outdoor and racey. i joined this forum seeking for loads of help and ideas for this project, so anything would be greatly appreciated. i was wondering if any of you who is looking at my thread point me to the right direction with go kart plans so i can get started on the frame. thank you

first off, is the engine from the lawnmower a vertical ( crankshaft points towards ground) or horizontal ( crankshaft points to the side) verticals are harder to work with due to starving them of oil when turned to the side, but if this engine is a 2 stroke it makes things a whole lot easier.

Kieran, I believe that you meant verticals are tougher to work with because they aren't meant to be sideways. Motors with the drive shaft coming out of the side are easier, coming from the bottom...not so much.
