Hi all, my name is Kevin. I have a few usernames on several forums. KoolKruiser, Zombiewoof and usually Highwaystar. I have spent years doing the 5th scale r/c scene and got really burned out with it. I have to be working on something, so I set out to find a new hobby.
I am a father of four daughters, so I told the wife we should get a mini bike. She was fine with it, but I think she thought I was crazy. We picked up a Sears Puddle jumper, fixed it up and soon found out that one just wasn't enough. So we started looking for other mini bikes and go karts for the whole family. Now we have a Sensation Chopper, Rupp Continental, Chaparral mini/dirt bike and a '60s Sears racing kart, all are in "project" state, but hopefully should be ready by spring/summer.
I am a do it yourself kind of guy. But learning about all of these different bikes and karts and what works with what is overwhelming. I am sure I will be asking a lot of questions, so please be patient with me.

Here are a few pics.

I can't see my previous post? I posted an intro. When I go to user cp, it says I have two posts yet only one will show up. And when I move my pointer over my intro in the forum index, the pop up bubble shows my post but when I open it it is gone. Can any of you guys see it? I was trying to edit it and it vanished???????

You will be amazed.

What part of Indiana are you from? I'm from Indiana as well. You'll find that these guys are amazing with their knowledge of all things mechanical....creative beyond you wildest imagination...and generous with their help and advise beyond anyone you have ever talked to. You will become addicted to this site. They walked me through my first build of a kart for my grand kids, and I have been addicted ever since.
Welcome to the forum.

I just got into this a few months ago. It is rather addicting for sure!

Ditto. Got a couple beater mini bikes off of craigslist this fall. Almost finished one of them.

Just got a kart too, and have a few engines, and plan on building a couple more karts to go with them.

Totally addicted for now... though I tend to flip through hobbies like a Rolodex.

As has been stated, site is good.

Edit: Oh yeah, welcome to the forum.

Just a little south of Anderson.
Finished my kart this afternoon. Runs and looks great thanks to the guys advise from this forum. It's going to be a Christmas present to the grand kids.
One of the Senior guys on this forum predicted that I'd have to build a couple more.....and I think he's going to be right !!!!!!
I think you're really going to enjoy this site.

That's awesome! They are going to love it. I have built several VW's & MG's, but I haven't messed with mini bikes and go karts since I was just old enough to tear them up. The mechanical "get it running" side is easy. I am just struggling with learning what specific parts go with what specific vehicles and then finding said part. But, that is most of the fun for me. I have a pile of projects right now, but they will come together by spring.

I also made a deal with a local guy today for a Trail Horse EZ Rider chopper. Just what I need, huh?

Remember the #1 Man Law......the guy who dies with the most toys....wins !!!!!
A guy can never have enough tools, toys, and projects.
