So I just started my Granddady kart. I have a quick question does anyone know where I can buy a 1-1/4 44” live axle kit? I was on bmikarts and I would have to buy everything separately. Would I be better of doing that or is there a kit that you would recommend. Any advice is appreciated.
Thank you,
Angel

Lol. Honestly I just thought they looked aggressive and I just thought they would do well on the trails.

Honestly, you would be better off going with a 1” steel solid axle kit. Like Mad said your tire choice is poor. But for different reasons. I think they are way too small also. Is there some place you could get old golf rims cheap? Like a golf course or country club? If so get 5 gc rims 4 for the kart and one for a spare. Then get matching hubs.
you can use 22x11x8 tires then.

Step 1: Put an exhaust Pipe and Air filter on my Honda gx200. I also deleted the governor and the low oil sensor. Got the engine on EBay it has great compression for a used motor so who ever owned it didn’t beat on it. Also got a little ahead of myself and ordered some kickass helmets for me n my son! I’ll be posting some pictures of the main frame tomorrow.

It is indeed a good deal to get 4 tires and 4 wheels too for $149.95 brand new. Just remember shipping............. I just typed in 32211, and shipping to my house would be $109.19 for UPS Ground, and we know how long that cheaper shipping can take as well. $259.14.

Update: I was having major issues with my welder using .035 wire I was just blowing through the metal on pretty much every weld. So I swapped out my mig wire for some .024 wire and now my welds are comming out so much better. I’m pretty much done with the main frame and I finished the swing arm. I’m working on the A Arms. Any advice on cutting accurate 68 degree angles?

So I came up with a jig to help me with my 68* cuts. I used a 1” bushing and some scrap flat steel. I squared it all up and welded it together. So now I can use it as a guide for my angle grinder.

More updates! Finished the rear swing arm. Now I’m working on the front end. The A arms are almost done just waiting for my bushings to come in. I also started getting my engine ready.

While I wait for some parts to come in I decided to tear down my engine and install an arc stage 2 kit, roller rockers, and a mikuni carb. This should be fun!!

Looks good so far. I’m happy with it. Now I have to take it outside and bolt everything on, make any final adjustments I need to then I’m going to weld on the front bumper and roll bars.
