Governor question

I just got my new clone 420cc. I proceeded to disconnect and remove the external governor linkage and fabricate a bracket for the throttle pedal cable.

I read that many will go further and remove the internal governor sprocket and related hardware. Why is that? What is wrong with leaving the internal parts since the linkage is disconnected?

The internal parts include a Plastic gear.
The plastic gear WILL NOT, handle the additional RPMs. and it WILL shatter.
Then you know, Little solid pieces dancing around inside your engine... Not good.

When it comes to small engines this is fact. Not opinion.

You have to remove everything to prevent the internals coming loose and ruining your engine. It is a costly mistake
