govenor linkage

I have a 5hp b&s fun power engine. I unhooked the govenor linkage and lost one of the links, somehow, and now it will not start. Did i remove to much? I removed the link from the carb and the one that runs behind the gas tank. I also removed the lever or whatever it is from under the gas tank that hooks to the part coming out of the engine that the link running behind the tank hooks to.

well that is confusing to read but if i read it properly the answer is no. It will still start but u probably need to pull the choke out and the thing on the carby the governor use to hook up to u have to push that so it idles a bit higher when u start it.

Check that the throttle plates at idle and the idle isnt set too low.
