My first guess is that you still need to upgrade to a high flow intake and filter before you can really get any performance out of it.

Most honda gx200/predator/clones that are modified will take a gx140 emulsion tube for a more consistent fuel signal at the carb, and a jet size between #35 and #38.

Also, if you removed the governor, you will also need to have a direct throttle hook up. How did you accomplish this? There are kits for it that are about $6.

Your jet size should be around #88-#90...... #90 is gonna seem a little rich on the low end, but my gx160 loves it. Im actually a TAD bigger than a #90 cuz i did it myself, and I use a lot more fuel than before, but have no bogging issues. Idles good, ROARS with a snap of the throttle, and revs to around 6400 before i let off the throttle.

What are the units on these, what does this translate to for the #s?

Bit size vs #'s.

Black plug means too rich..... Oh , I was wrong about my engine.... Im running a gx140 (5hp) Honda...... But its all the same.... And my main jet is really the equivalent of a #106, as the bore size is approximately .042"..... Thats why i use so much gas, but my plug is in the proper color range, so I know that Im getting a good fuel mix. I made my own intake and bought a free flow air cleaner. You can make an air filter adapter for less than $10 and a trip to homedepot (hardware store)....... and it will work better than the stock air box, and just as good as a "store bought" kind....
The most important thing, is to read your plug after any changes are made. Sure, you might end up buying a few plugs, but they are cheap, and reading them can keep you from frying your engine......
EDIT
that studdering is more than likely you engine looking for the air it needs to burn the new fuel load....

Well I ordered a spacer and free flow filter and the 140 tube and some 18lbs springs so hopefully that will get me where I want to be

How did you make your home made spacer

I get confused with these things, but I think you need a billet con rod when 18# springs are used...
Someone will chime in to correct me...

OP, What is this spacer you refer to??

I don't believe that speed calculator. It told me I would only be able to do 26mph.
Well, I finished my kart and clocked it and I was able to get to 37mph.

Then the wrong numbers were entered my guess... #`s don't lie.
