As title says I removed the govenor, low oil sense cut line, intake, and straight pipe but no difference to me.....I tried porting jets but I must have made them too big cause it would just die on me when I tried to accelerate changed with old jet running fine now....what size do I drill jets too? I know I do have a 12 tooth clutch and 60 tooth sprocket does that really make a change

you did not mention putting in a high flow adapter and high flow air filter, nor did you mention the emulsion tube, nor did you mention what engine it is. My first guess is that you still need to upgrade to a high flow intake and filter before you can really get any performance out of it.

Also, porting refers to the intake and exhaust ports (typically porting and polishing is making the ports bigger by grinding or filing them - porting, then smoothing them out-polishing). This has nothing to do with the jets.

If you did drill out the jet to some arbitrary size, then it would be best to get the jet that is right for the engine (whichever that one may be).

Most honda gx200/predator/clones that are modified will take a gx140 emulsion tube for a more consistent fuel signal at the carb, and a jet size between #35 and #38.

Also, if you removed the governor, you will also need to have a direct throttle hook up. How did you accomplish this? There are kits for it that are about $6.

Ok sorry it's a predator 212cc and have a straight pipe exaust, made a bunch of holes on intake top cover for better air flow, govenor removed, and yes as for jets I was talking about drilling them out....I moved the stock jet from my gx390 into carb since I drilled out to much and ran fine...

As for direct throttle hook up I just measured and cut a hanger piece fits and works good...

Emulsion tube? What is that or is it the tube above jet in carb...and can I take one out of honda 390 and install it as I did jet...

What size do I drill out both jets one in carb and idle jet....

Sorry if sounding dumb but I was having a brain fart this morning cause I know what porting is but thank you very much and thanks ahead of time for more Info

Not going to get much speed with those 6" tires. Preeety slow. Max speed stock engine is about 12mph.

12 tooth clutch + 60 tooth sprocket + 3600RPM + 12 inches tall = 12mph.

http://www.diygokarts.com/speed-calculator.html

Not sure how you got that...
12" tires + 3600rpms + 60t axle + 12t clutch = 26mph...
6" tires would get 12mph, but 12" tires would get 26.

---------- Post added at 03:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:44 PM ----------

So with what I got what tires would be recommended

Assuming this is going on a go kart (you have not said what it is going on yet) then i would go about 12 or 13. Much bigger and you would need to look into a TC

No, you said you had a 6" tire, which amounts to about a 12" overall height i think... That is the height that is used on a lot of go karts.

Youre gonna have to post a pic of what you have set up on the engine, or we really cant tell you what your next step would be. If you removed the governor COMPLETELY, (that means the stuff inside the engine, not just disconnecting it), you should notice a big difference in performance. If you didnt, then you did something wrong, missed a step, or are just expecting more than what you can actually get. Once you make the performance upgrades to the engine, you can drop to a better drive ratio like 5.2:1 or 5.4:1 to get more top end, since the new found power can take care of the bottom end. Im gonna assume that your tires say 4.10/3.50-6 on the sides. Whith that size tire, you can run the 6:1 that you currently have, and all the way up to 5.2:1. I ran 13" tall tires on my kart, with a modded gx160, and was able to hit 50mph easy, running upwards of 6400 rpm..... That engine is currently on my mini bike and that thing hits 55+ in second gear, and has plenty of punch in first gear to pop a wheelie and ride it down the block. (69-70 sears roper with 2 speed tranny)
Drilling holes in the factory airbox did nothing for you. The restriction in air flow comes at the intake tube of the box. Its flow capacity is NO GOOD for performance. The intake tract actually slows down the flow, with its sharp, blunt turns. The best set up is a straight shot into the carb, with no restriction in flow at all.....
I done forgot what else I was gonna tell ya.....

Now you guys know I'm asking what's my next step, this weekend I'm going to re-jet it and see what happens....it just seems like the 5hp bs had more power or top speed then this 6.5

when you put a proper intake set up on t, you should notice a difference. if you are bogging out at 37 mph, read your plug. you are having fuel issues.....
