got this home-made kart frame with front suspension, atv tires and the rear axle looks kinda like an atv axle/snowmobile geared hybrid thing, can I use a comet 40 driver on this? it's like 9:1 ratio in the gearbox.

pics look like honda odyssey clutch brake and tranny or rather reduction box. have any more pics? if it is ody it had originally a 250cc motor with comet's 94c duster clutch and will do 50mph stock. has a fiberglass foot tub, roll cage, e-brake on the right side, and the seat back slides over the seat bottom.

I'm not sure what it came off of, the kart originally had a different axle on it, but was removed from it when we got it, he gave us this axle/drive unit with it, Ill post a pic of the whole thing tomorrow, i didn't get a chance to do it today. Thanks for the info mike

you're right, after seeing your reply I looked up odyssey parts, and i found exactly what I was looking for, I was trying to figure out how the heck to mount the stupid thing, there was a pillow block style bearing tied into a drum brake, which I assume was the parking brake from what I have seen, but I didn't see how the other side was mounted, but apparently they just used the housing of the gear reduction for it. thank you very much for the info, and I'm going to post pics of the entire cart frame tomorrow night when I get down to my shop @ my buddy's house so I can get some opinions, I'm also going to look at a 440 kawasaki sled tomorrow for the motor he he he.
