Got some crawfish!

Albertsons was only selling 15 lbs.@ $47.50! I went to Fiesta and bought about 2/12 pounds at $.99 a pound ,HUGE, beautiful crawfish, and I was able to pick them out individually and get the best and biggest.

Yep...I was like:"what the heel happened to $.99 a pound?"

They're crawfish , not saffron or truffles....even beef!

Besides, what in the heck am I gonna do with 15 lbs. of crawfish?

My wife found pork tenderloin (yes, tenderloin) at Kroger yesterday for less than $2 a pound. Must have been a mistake on their part. She got 5 of them.

One of those crawfish was a blue crawfish. Not SUPER rare (1 :50,000), still...a pet now.

A blue lobster is 1:1,000,000.

I've never had crawfish before. How is it compared to like shrimp?

Almost flavorless without crawfish boil. The best part is sucking out the heads, although I discovered the claw meat is sweet, (normally, the claws are just too small to mess with , but these were some monster crawfish).

We always catch them in the river by our house and eat them once or twice a summer. The tails and claws are very good, but sucking out the heads is just gross

Don't knock it 'till you try it.

I always prep my crawfish. I put them in saltwater for two hours, (which causes them to puke, and trust me, that water gets nasty!) Then into fresh for about 15 minutes. It makes a huge difference in the quality and taste.

I’ll have to try that (the prepping, not the intestine sucking, although I do know people that do that) they don’t get very big up here where the rivers frozen over 3 months out of the year, but we get enough of em for a meal for sure when we trap them.

Well up here we don't have any what some would consider weird delicacies. Well Colorado has rocky mountain oysters. I wouldn't mind trying crawfish once, just not the head.

Actually, lamb fries are much better than calf fries, but unfortunately, even harder to find.
