I recently rebuilt one, there only 3 areas that ever need cleaning, the jet and the pickups, everything else is too big to clog and filtered by the jet and pickup screens. oh and never use a whizzy wheel to clean gasket off the carb body, or you will end up like me and accidentaly cut the plastic jet pickup off(a real PITA to remove and reinstall!).

ive used a wire brush on an air dremel all the time and worst that was is that the plastic tube got some wire rash

You might need to cut that piece of metal out from the center of the frame to make the engine fit.

What's sad is, most people remove the little fuel filter (screen), and then wonder why their carburetors run weird after a couple of runs.

to clean the filter on the carb, can i take it off and from the inside spray carb cleaner and try to get it off?

No real need to. Just use a wirebrush from the outside. Alays worked for me.
