I was not talking about government watching me. I been reading reports where the government wants to control what we see and do on the net. Just like China already does.

If I want to watch porn then let me watch porn. I do not need to be sensored by governement.

Again I do not know the facts to argue a case. I just been remember reading aticals where the Government is already taking or trying to take baby steps at government sensoring of the net.

If the governement was watching me I am screwed for sure. But at the same time I am sick of giving up freedom to pick and chose.

Government would love to shut down porn, racist sites, preppers, kkk, medical marijuna forums etc. etc.

You're probably thinking of that SOPA/PIPA crap...which is dead as a pile of reclaimed lumber, right about now. It wouldn't have allowed government censoring, it would have allowed the US Attorney General to take down any site thought to have copyrighted material on it, by way of DNS blocking...the same way that China blocks sites.

All search engines use cookies to track ur behavior. How u think they make money. U look up something about a 57 Chevy then those little side ads will be about a new chevy.

I too use AdBlock but on FireFox. U can also block cookies in browser settings but alot of sites wont work with blocked cookies. I also use adaware, spybot sd, etc and block known bad tracking cookies.

There is a way to deny cookies from certain sites. In Chrome, go to Settings, then click "Show Advanced Settings" at the bottom of the page. Scroll down and click "Content Settings", the click "Manage exceptions" on the box that pops up. Type in what ever domain you want to block cookies from and select "deny" from the dropdown box.

Google can still track your activity by your IP, though...

You do realize this forum doesn't support HTML in posts, right? Plus, you left out two quotation marks around your URL...and don't need to use caps for your tags...

if you're online then your activities are archived by someone somewhere. i don't care what measures you take, your activities are available...even if you're blocking an ad, the data used to generate the ad is still being created.

personally, i don't really care. i mean, i DO care, but so long as i'm only doing "regular" bad things, and not "criminal" bad things, the folks who randomly monitor this stuff take a quick look and move on.

once, while travelling by train & dragging an ominous-looking big black rolling suitcase full of computer parts behind me, i noticed that a homeland security guy had snuck up and had his dog take a quick sniff.

i wasn't offended in any way...instead, i was encouraged to know that big black suitcases full of electronics being dragged through a crowded terminal were being scrutinized.

same thing applies here. the only way to not be monitored online is to not go online.

Why would you want to? I've been using AVG for years & never had a problem. Before that I used tremd micro for 2 weeks & it messed up my computer as a result of a bad update...

I have also been using AVG for a long time, and have also not had any problems. I am using the free version which is pretty good. I regularly update it as well.
