I don't know anything about that TC....but.....I do know about Ebay.....the guy has a slew of sales....been on there forever....and sells kart stuff.....

He's the real deal.....so....the TC probably is too....

Just out of curiosity.....Russ....how many times have you made purchases on Ebay.....and how many times have you been burned.....or are you parroting second hand information without hands on experience?

I bought the knock offs. They all have worked great out of the box. No complaints here. I bought mine for $103 so that seems right

I ordered my knockoff from bmi and have not had any issues with mine either. I did however upgrade the plastic cover to the carbon fiber cover from gokartsusa tho.

I recently bought a generic one from this eBay seller (http://www.ebay.com/usr/deezeeauto?_trksid=p2047675.l2559).

The sole issue I faced is with the bolts that have wrong thread pitch (UNC instead of UNF) and don't work on a Predator 212.

I just got the right bolts and solved the issue. It has a perfect fit on the Predator and has been working great for 2 weeks now on my Viper STX (homemade yard kart)

It is to soon to give strong opinion of the quality of this torque converter, but my initial impression is very positive and hope it will work for several years.

Well, the simple fact is,
just like a clone engine, it remains a "No Name" product, with all the pros and cons.

I do not believe that anyone (not even the seller) know exactly where the TCs where made
(well a sweatshop in china .. but which one?)

So I do not think there is much difference in quality at all.

A clone is a clone is a clone...

A difference in price is a matter of how many TCs the seller bought on alibaba.com, and that's about it IMHO..

Mine's from bulletlines.com (through ebay.. similar price; $103 IIRC)
but they have custom printed cardboard boxes.. other than that.. not different at all.

Go ahead, buy it; there's a very good chance it's just as good as any other clone TC ;)

I'm planning on buying this same CVT to go on a predator212 on my build.

Apart from bolt issues, has anyone had any other problems with theses?
