Good Idea? minibike/scooter

Hi guys do you think this is a good idea for me to make.I have built a go kart all ready but i wanted to try something different.If i do go ahead whith this build i will be putting a briggs 3hp magnetron on it.

Sounds like a recipe for ripping the headtube off, you've got no triangulation working for it so the front end would be pretty weak.

the old picture doesnt look anything like his design. Strengthen the frame and try it

Adding small pieces of metal to the top and bottom of your steering tube would help to strengthen it. Also 3hp briggs is a bit underpowered, but I doubt you would want lower gearing with a frame that high in the air.

your going to sit above the engine? if so that wont work . your weight will be way too high and youll be flipping over backwards like crazy. looks good on paper but youll find when you start laying out your parts the design is not going to work

you wont have any problem with sitting to high. Did you see the mini doodle trail baron? Or ever ride an atv? His drawing above may not be the BEST way but its still ok. If you position the engine so it is more infront of the rear wheel then it is behind the wheel, you will be good.

Just wondering why you want the engine that high? That's like really high up ... are you going to be doing some deep mud-riding?

Not talking about the gearing, talking about placement of the engine .... Why is it placed so far up in the frame, like almost completely over the tops of the wheels? Also, why so far back over the rear wheel? Wouldn't placing the engine more towards the center of the bike and lower in front of the rear wheel, more like a traditional minibike, help with the center of gravity?

It almost looks like he's going for a unicycle design, then added the front end at the last minute. That's my take on it .....

EDIT: Okay, saw the Trail Baron and the Spirit, but your design still needs some more work. Scoot that engine forward a little more. What size wheels are you going to use?
