Picking this up tonight for $50...seems like a pretty sweet deal needs some work, there appear to be some rusty parts, which I actually already from when I did upgrades on mine now. Here's his description, pretty funny at the end lol

Looks rough but Fast and really strong bike. It runs barely it is giving too much gas to the motor itll crank and everything but wont stay running , itll sound like its struggling. Gonna need new pull cord and needs gas valve front tire leaks but will hold air for a while it is a good bike has brand new back tire $50 firm its a steal, id prefer you to have experience because the bike is very strong

The idea is to fix it up and give it to my Dad for a late bday/early Christmas present

Anybody have any thoughts/ideas/comments/suggestions about it??

That's what I thought. He said it does run, just won't idle too well. Bet the idle screw needs adjustment, carb cleaned, etc. For 50 hard to go wrong. He said it has a new rear tire too

man thats a good deal, the shocks on that one BLOW, so if your dad is a bigger guy, take the shocks out and take the end off of the top of the shock, drain, and add some synthetic LUCAS SYNTHETIC FORK OIL 15WT 16OZ (its like $12). Also, i think what someone said was add 51cc's (51 ml) and it was suriprisingly accurate.

replace cord and grease the spring thingee for the pull start, and rewind the pull start.

oil change, carb clean, fresh gas, go have some fun!!!

Well I got it! It looks a little rougher in person, but it is a Baja, has a vin stamped on it.

I cleaned out the float bowl, put a newer air filter and exhaust on it (leftovers from my Baja that I updgraded), and tomorrow will clean the carb. What's the best way to do that?

The throttle system is rusted out, going to get a new one of those as well, might have to get a new brake too. Pull start looks like it's fixable

Will take off chains and soak them, they look ok. The back tire looks brand new, front is iffy but might try the green stuff in it to keep it from going flat.

Needs a seat, might add a headlight. Oh it needs paint too, looks pretty rough

All in all, for $50 I am pleased. The worst case scenario is the engine is trashed, I can get a new predator and still be under $200 in all. Not too bad I don't think.

The "green stuff" is a joke. Better to tap around the tire sidewall with a big hammer--helps re-seat the rim and seal up the tire. Old trick.

You'd think with it off, the chain would be oiled-looking and/or greasy with the easier access, but no. Good idea to run with it off though, so you can keep the clutch bushing well lubed.

I would have thought so too. Might get a new chain, the one on it it pretty rough looking

Well, everyone here is going to blast me, but I just took it to the local small engine repair shop. After spending 3 hours taking apart and cleaning carb, re doing air filter, cleaning out gas can, etc I just can't get it to start. The shop does free estimates, and it might be worth paying to have them professionally fix it up.

That was I can spend more time on appearance

One more question, where is the best place to a brake lever/cable and a throttle set up. The one on it is rusted out and looks really rough. I found them on ebay for like $10-15 each, not sure where to get one

And please guys, don't judge me too bad on taking it to the shop, school is crazy right now and I want to spend more time making it look better than getting an engine running, only to still have to take it to the shop if I can't get it to work

Any carb cleaner works good brakleen also, but remove all the plastic parts as they might get melted or destroyed...

There's a carburetor "dip" you can get... just like in Who Framed Roger Rabbit..

Gunk makes some and several other brands. Most auto parts store should have it...

I asked, but realized after taking it apart that I wasn't sure it was even the problem, and had no idea what it could be.

But I don't have a ton of time right now to mess with it, so I took it to the shop lol. When they get it working I will be able to devote more time to making it look better

I'm gonna buy some of that dip cleaner stuff. Seen too many U-Tub videos showing the results after an overnight dip--just amazing--sparkly clean carburetors. And you can use the dip over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over....again.

Also, these "ultrasonic cleaners" are supposed to work wonders.
