golf kart motors

Anyone ever play with a golf cart motor? Know anything at all about them? Like: power source, or speed control?

I might have a line on a bunch of them, but I'm clueless about them right now.

i while back i striped down a golf cart and took out all the motors and that and we wired one up and it was very powerfull im not sure how you would conect one tho the one we had went thro a gear box with a worm gear in it and some silly mouting
