redoing my gokart again

redid the gokart like 6months ago
wich had been sitting in backyard for 8+ years

ditched the 5hp briggs motor and put a FH 6.5 clone on it
and got some cheap harbor freight front tires

and this is how it looked

this time around i wanna make it a one seater cause i was sliding all over the seat when drifting

going to ditch the whole body roll cage a just have a over head roll cage like a convertible car

already got 19x10 rear tires

will show my progress and hope to hear your thoughts

do you plan on moving the steering column and shaft to the middle of the frame?

you could install a bumper to keep you on the driver's side? otherwise, you will need to do quite a bit of work to make it a one seater and look half way decent

yeah i goigng to move steering to center and right pedal all the way to the right side

adding a seat i got frome ebay
thinking of raising the seat to give me more leg room
im 6'2 and was pretty crunched up before (knees to chest lol)
so by centering the seat
having the pedal as far as possible from each other
and raising the seat will hopefully free up leg room

i know its gonna be alot of work and im up to for it
bought a $500 welding machine to add to my tool drawer and just for this

Looks like you're goin' offroad with this. Having hacked off as much as you have, you'll want to add more reinforcements to keep that frame from bending.

Dooes that make sense. It doesn't have to have as many support bars but as long as everything is triangulated and you have no dead tubes. A dead tube is when a tube connects to another without any support on the other side. I'll post a pic with a yellow arrow of a dead tube.

Your cross brace tubing can be of smaller diameter or thinner wall, but you main support tubing i would make of no less then 1"x .095

The yellow arrows is where the tube is a dead, dead tube connection.

Here is also an odyssey cage which is a good example you can follow.

You should never have a kart with a cage without a harness, it's much more dangerous than no cage at all. If you have a cage, you MUST have a harness.

Also, if you don't have a cage you MUST NOT have a harness.

Please install a harness or at least a lap belt, or remove the cage entirely.
