Hi I got my tiny/go kart running and idling smooth, while it’s on the stand, I press the throttle, drivetrain and the rear wheels move and spin and looks like it should go. I put it on the floor, start it up, try and drive but it moves like 1 inch when I full throttle it. (My said it looked like the chain wasn’t moving but the chain itself is in good condition and it sounds while on the stand, please help

What is a TINY go kart, and does it also have a tiny engine on it? Like Denny said, we need some specific information about your project in order to try to help you.

You need to furnish us with some real information. My crystal ball is on the fritz. Gear ratio, tire size, pictures, drive line, engine.
It’s a vortex 60cc engine 2 stroke

its a vortex 60cc engine in it, regular size Tony kart, the kart is complete just don’t know why on the stand the wheels spin freely and fast but when I try to drive it, it doesn’t go anywhere, I was thinking maybe I have to tighten chain? or is it a component in the engine or something I have no clue

Honestly you’re out of my depth here. Anderkart is our asphalt guru. Wait for him to chime in. He will help you. One more question though, is it direct drive or centrifugal clutch? He’ll want to know.

So it's not a Tiny ( size ) kart. It's a Tony ( brand ) kart. I honestly thought you meant that you had a very small kart. Most of us here are used to working with
4 stroke non racing karts. Yours is the opposite in both type and engine. Have you tried pushing it, or having someone push you while you are gassing it. It looks like the power plant is engineered for the kart but how much torque can a
60 cc 2 stroke engine produce. I can imagine it struggling trying to move from a dead stop. It is clearly a race kart designed for competition. Have you tried contacting any racing organizations.

Are racing karts direct drive?
Is there a clutch. Sound like a clutch issue to me.

Maybe push it to see if you can get it going at the start. It’s probably geared for max top speed and the little two stroke is lacking the torque.

Be warned, I have no idea what I’m talking about and just vomiting ideas.

All I know about is 4 cycles, 4 cycle race karts have clutches, but 2 cycles are a mystery to me.

It’s a centrifugal dryclutch and has an integrated electrical starter.

From a distance it sounds like clutch, which would mean replacement of cluch shoes. This is doable yourself if your comfortable with it. I'm sure
someone has a video of it on the big video site. The clutch is integral to the engine. These are pretty sophisticated engines for those who aren't familiar with them. They make around 10 hp and can rev to 15,000. Remember a 2 stroke has 1 power stroke every revolution. Anyway this is a best guess without having eyes on it.
