Hey Fellaz,

Just wanted to give you an update on my Go Kart project. It is now running! I decided to do away with the little honda motor and I bought the Infamous Harbor Freight blue motor! I love these little motors! The first thing I had to do was install the gear reduction drive on the HF motor. This was a difficult process as the output shaft on Honda motor is different from the H.F. motor. I rebuilt the brakes (CRG), greased the bearings, pulled the rear wheels in, and fixed the throttle linkage. This is such a torquey little motor! The gear reduction drive helps that a little I guess. Here is a few vids of it in action:

Sorry, my wife didn't realize the camera needed to be held in a certain position, lol!

So all I have left to do is re-fiberglass the seat, put some new wheels on it, paint the body, and that's it! These things are so much fun! What started out as my $75 Kart, is now up to about $250. My wife is mad at me for my lack of money discipline. .:cheers2:

Nice! The only thing that bother's me, not that it matters, is the high location of the engine. It looks quite torque-y! I had to hold my head sideways though to fully enjoy the videos :arf:

Dang that motor seriously has some torque. You barely revved it at all and you were going pretty fast.

It was really simple iron man. Throttle cable wraps to rear of motor, and I have a little piece of metal attached to the bottom Valve Cover bolt. That piece of metal angles up and to the right and has a hole at the top for the cable to be secured. It worked out fine, but the throttle cable goes through the carb. assembly and you have to make sure it doesn't hit anything. Also, after making that video, I realized that the throttle cable was only giving me about 3/4 throttle!~ That means more speed for me with just a little adjustment. Nice~!

Pyro, Its crazy how torquey those motors are. The motors want to rip the motor plate! Now all I need is some serious performance engine parts and i'll be doing Burnouts in no time!!!
