Hey Fellaz,
Just wanted to give you an update on my Go Kart project. It is now running! I decided to do away with the little honda motor and I bought the Infamous Harbor Freight blue motor! I love these little motors! The first thing I had to do was install the gear reduction drive on the HF motor. This was a difficult process as the output shaft on Honda motor is different from the H.F. motor. I rebuilt the brakes (CRG), greased the bearings, pulled the rear wheels in, and fixed the throttle linkage. This is such a torquey little motor! The gear reduction drive helps that a little I guess. Sorry, my wife didn't realize the camera needed to be held in a certain position, lol!
So all I have left to do is re-fiberglass the seat, put some new wheels on it, paint the body, and that's it! These things are so much fun! What started out as my $75 Kart, is now up to about $250. My wife is mad at me for my lack of money discipline. .
