So I built a go kart track in my back yard. I think it will always be a work in progress but the grand opening was yesterday for a little get together/party with my 27th birthday being used as an excuse.

The track is different materials in different spots consisting of loam, crusher dust, and dirt/clay, tilled and beaten down. It is not smooth but it was able to be ridden. We ran my two karts, a dirt bike, and a 4 wheeler. Then we had a terrible rain storm and the entire local area was destroyed in floods. What a night right? Anyways here are some pictures:

shortly after this the chain broke

Then the storm hit

Then an opportunity came up and I went for it

Confirms my theory, there are rednecks everywhere (me included) :cheers2:
No better time to have fun with beer, karts, and rain.
Cool track looks like loads of fun, happy birthday BTW.:biggrinjester:

Wow! Nice work! Looks like you guys had a blast, and dammit, I am jealous!

Quite the storm, eh? I can't believe some of that washout damage. Incredible.

Haha, you did it, AWESOME  Looks like heaps of fun. Any chance of giving us an idea of what layout you went with?

Just a tip: If you want to flatten it, now would be the best time

Oh, & HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Wow Duluth got hit hard I see, but thats not where I am haha. http://bangordailynews.com/2012/06/...ding-one-dead-after-crash-on-washed-out-road/

The track layout I went with is like this:

I plan on expanding it to a full oval in addition to what I have there as well. And yes, that RM85 has plenty of kick to it. I have never ridden a bike before and the 2 stroke powerband combined with the twist throttle concept sent me on a crazy flying wheelie into the bushes. Just a few bumps and bruises though. Lesson learned: stick to go karts and snowmobiles.

Hey, that shape looks vaguely familiar  Good job

I've always said that 4 wheels are better than 2; you can't fall over with 4 wheels under you

Haha that's part of the fun! though i've tried to jumped quads before it about pulls my arm off every time because i'm not used to having to land flat on all four on a bike its a lot easier!

No idea. There is no brand name anywhere though I am pretty sure it is not home made.
