Hey, well i'm having a problem with a torque converter that its mounted on my Manco 445 go kart. The torque converter i have is a Comet 30 series. The issue i have is the two units (driver & driven) are not parallel when mounted. I notice that when i drive the belt bends between the two and adds unneeded wear on the belt. I have read up on other websites and it says that the two units should be perfectly aligned. I was wondering if this is normal or if i have to fix it. Thanks!

You need a bushing (spacer) between the driver and the engine. You can get a 1" long one at the hardware store and cut it down to fit your needs. You may need to get a longer bolt that holds the driver on, so check that before you make a trip to the store.

I'm not sure if this will work because of the length of the engine shaft. I wouldn't want the driver unit to be held on by just a 1/4 inch on the shaft.
