So I bought a yerf dog go kart last week and it was in desperate need of new tires so I ordered new tires and they came in today which became an all day deal. First tried hitting the backside of rim with a long piece of wood. Didn't work. Hub puller bent the rim. I tried everything even hooking one to my buddies truck and the other too a pole and still nothing but 2 broken straps. Has anyone else dealt with something like this? And what did you do?

i took the nut off
The nut is on there because he has one end strapped to a pole and the other end connected to a moving truck. If that tire busted loose with no nut to stop it from completely coming off the spindle he better hope that truck has a headache rack. Now op you see that big blunt end on the puller? You are supposed to put only a little tension on the rim and then hit the puller with a BF Hammer. You can’t just keep cranking the rim just bends like your picture.

1. Time and penetrating oil.
2. Heat and beat hub after removing valve stem from rim.
3. Cut rim from axle.
4. Wait until rim rusts completely from axle. Will take about 50-100 years.
5. Take it to a very large shop press and press out axle and possibly destroy rear of kart.
6. Buy new axle, hubs and rims now and just cut off old stuff. You probably will end up doing it anyway.

Sprayed it with pb blaster everyday and today heated the hub and tried hitting it off. Still didn't work. Just ordered a new axle gonna cut the old one off tonight

By heat, red hot and quenching worked well for me. Red then cold water, not worth it if the wheel's already messed up or the axle is roached. Made that mistake.
