One less piece of junk in the hoard pile. Took an old frame and added a seat hoop, bracing for the seat and seat back. Painted, and went through a Briggs 5 hp flat-head I had laying around. Added new seats from scratch. Took two evenings this week and all day Friday.

Enjoy!

Good?

AWESOME!!

I actually do not like the tires too much,
but I totally agree on keeping them for obvious reasons ;)

And again: I love your seat

I got to take the kart on its maiden voyage down the block and back. Had some nice pull and sound.....then 2 minutes later I traded it away for a mini bike. I restored this as a trade for the mini bike.

I started regretting this once I had the kart almost restored, but the kid I traded the kart to was just too excited for me to back out. Now I have two baja heat/warrior mini bikes. The mini bike is only a few months old too!

kick *** look Grant!!! wish i had resources as readily as you... hehe.

I am just a regular guy, with a regular job. I have worked really hard on the side and traded a lot for what tools I have; flipping/trading so I have a little pile of $$ for the next project. It keeps things interesting and my wife from freaking out when I buy another junk kart.

I like the tires looked like something off the A-TEAM van you traded that for a minibike? SLAP FOOL

Hey at least I could finish my project in 3 days :) yours is a little bigger though so you should be done in what... one more week? :)

The kid was so excited about the kart, that's what it's all about anyway. It's just fun to restore them, then move on to the next one. Right now I have a hoard so I'll have 3-4 more that I'll be flipping until I can get to my real projects that I will be keeping.

...& now you sound like Denis Leary :lolgoku:

Great work on the kart, I'm sure the new owner will be very happy with it

Yeah- he forgets 2 things.....#1: he's been spotted in real life.....remember. ...we met????

#2 No such thing as a "normal guy" in Texas....Unless you just got here.....:lolgoku:

Great job Grant- and I love the wheel treatment and choice of colors.....

Edit: My bad- you said "regular" guy: yeah they have medications that make that a digestive possibility....lol.

how did the live axle work on that Kart? I could see the grease fittings, did the axle run on needle bearings or bushings at each end of the housing tube?

Bushings. One grease fitting on each side. The bushings had a hole in them for the grease fitting to allow grease in. Bushings were approximately 1 1/2" wide and flanged to hold them in place. Not the most ideal set up but they worked.
