I have a few questions about building my first go kart.

What kind of coil over shocks could be used in the front suspension of a go kart with A arm front suspension?

Motorcycle shocks. Unless the kart and you are a lightweight, just regular mechanical shocks for a go kart.

How improtant is a rear suspension on semi rough terrain?

Can I get shocks for front suspension for about $50?

Can this be welded into ends of A arms and bolted to a tab to allow the A arm to swivel up and down?

Cant tell exactly what that is, but its just as easy to use some DOM tubing or a thick bushing along with some grade 8 bolts.

Rear suspension is more important for comfort, since you sit near the back. Front suspension is more important for handling.

The piece is designed to be weld into th end of a piece of tubing, it is called a weld clevis.
