:wai: Its hard to tell from the picture. Are those small holes threaded for studs? You can run either 3/5 holes rims on that hub.

Yes, all of the small holes are threaded. The guy I got it from had a set of more modern racing kart wheels that he included, they are nowhere near close to fitting.

What??
How can a three bolt pattern wheel match a five hole pattern hub?

It's either 72° or 120° hole to hole...
even skipping a hole of the five bolt pattern would be 144° and not 120°... *shrugs*

Am I missing something here?

AS far as I can tell they make numerous bolt patterns, just give them a call; I'm pretty certain they can provide the wheels you need.

:wai:Unless my math is wrong a five bolt pattern will be 60 degrees apart. On my new toy I am building, I am running 5 bolt rims on three bolt hubs.

your math is wrong!

a full circle has 360°, 5*60 would be 300.. you missed one step or end up having a six-bolt circle.
only way to end up with a equally spaced five bolt circle is adding 12° (60/5) per step .. hence 72°

In simpler terms, what Sid was saying, is that you can't get an equilateral triangle using any three holes of a five bolt pattern. It would be an isosceles.

That would require a custom made hub, and wheel. Because honestly... why would a manufacturer make that on purpose?

You could use 3 holes of a 6 bolt pattern, but not 5. Well, you could (you can make anything)... but as stated... why?

Double edit: tapatalk sucks... I reply to something, and it looks like I'm stating the obvious because when I refreshed the thread, there weren't any new posts... then after I post, there is a post or posts that didn't show before... making me look like more of an idiot than I already am. *smile*

:wai:Well it looks like I have to go back to the 1st grade and start my math skills all over. I feel like a complete dumb azz, some how a 6 turn into a 5 when doing my calculation. But I still have 5 bolt rim on 3 bolt hubs. If I ever get this picture thing down, I will post some. I have the pictures on the puter but have not fiqure out how to put them on the forums/E-Mail.

Everyone makes mistakes zbuck. Everyone.

The only reason we chimed in, was so the OP or anyone else reading didn't get confused.

Hope you didn't think we were ganging up on you. We're all actually doing the same thing (right or wrong)... trying to help out.

Same motives. Different info. All of our hearts are in the right place.
*thumbs up*

:iagree:
what he said :D

No need to feel bad if your intentions are good.
everyone makes mistakes sometimes,
and we are many.. so we can clear things up if one is in fail-mode :D

Oh, I'd be interested in your pictures.. and it's really easy:
find the folder you stored the images on your computer (and remember)
click the "Post reply" button under the last post.
The blue one on the left, not the grey "post quick reply"!

Scroll down a little until you see the "Manage attachments" button, click it.
In the appearing pop up, click one of the topmost five textfields;
navigate to the previously mentioned folder and add an image..
click upload.. and wait for it to complete.

Now all you images are on DIYGK server and are already attached to the post.
Now scroll up, type your text, and click post reply...

done.

:wai: Thank you Guys for understanding. My late Father use to tell me, show me somebody that never makes a mistake and I will show you someone that never did anything. Well in that case I have done plenty.

Ummm- Yeah. .. For 5 hole you just leave out the 6th stud.:lolgoku:

But it will work for 3 or 4- ( 2 out of 3 ain't bad)....
