Hey everyone, im new here and was wondering, for my first build and with very little knowledge on gear rations and engines and clutches and stuff like that, which would be easier to build? a Go Kart or a Mini Bike? Also which one is cheaper? Thanks

Hello and welcome.

Is almost say a bike is cheaper, but depends on motor/design/ mods, ect.
Ratio depends on tire size, but go for a 6:1 and work up/down from there depending on riding performance, also this also depends on motor/clutch your using.

Typically a good start is a Honda clone from harbour freight.

Thank you, I was definitely planning on the honda clone, have you ever seen a 2seater mini bike or do you think it's possible?

Not a lot out there, typically the motor isn't powerful enough to move that weight, average adults I mean. Kids, ya probably, but depending on how young, they should be probably one to a bike anyways as there skill might not be able to handle the both.

I agree.... That's a lot of weight for a rookie to be trying to to maneuver around....
Minibike is probably the easiest to build and cheaper. If you are hellbent on having a passenger, then gear down for 7:1 or 8:1....

Yea, the passenger would be a little kid though, that's why I was going to go with a two person go kart first but think I should start off easy with a mini bike haha

Do a kart. Safer and more fun.... Buy a beater off craigslist and revamp it. It will be cheaper and you can be on the road faster.... :wai:
