I took the kart for its 1st run with the tav today.
This thing is awesome off the line now but doesn't pull past 3000.
I have lots roughly 1500-2000rmps. I eat my mates one off the line but he drives around me about 600 feet or so.
At 3000 I noticed that the belt is only going roughly 3/4 up the driver and the driven.
My gearing is as follows. 10 tooth front 50 tooth sprocket and a 13" tyre. Kart and rider roughly 350-375 lbs.
Gearing issue?
I'm kind of stuck with the rear sprocket as it has a odd hub so of I go to a 8 tooth will it make the difference I need?
I running out of money

An 8T jackshaft sprocket will help torque not speed... if yo want more speed you will need more than the 10T.

You could adjust your driven spring but that is hardly noticeable in my experience.

The engine is not revving out like it used to.
I don't know anything about the TC but it seems odd that the belt is only traveling roughly 3/4 of the drives.
I can only see a larger front sprocket making this worse.

The engine is a gx200 clone. I have played around with the governor spring so it comes in around 5k.
Before the converter it hit the governor easy enough, it had the same gearing.
Lifting the wheels off the ground it hits full rmp and the belt rides all the way up the drives.
Frustrating to say the least.
Something I noticed this morning before I went to work I'd the flat surfaces of the drives have a bit of rubber on them. I'll take photos tonight

It does wheel stands, but it won't go 65?

Look pal, ya just can't have it all. :D

Come on. Why can't I have my cake and eat it too?:p

Don't know about wheely donuts but I'll get a video the next time I go to a mates place for testing.
My mate wants to wet down his bitumen and see if it will do burnouts with knobbies. :cheers2:

I don't know what you just said, but maybe you should take that talk elsewhere!:p
