go kart idle

Hello. New to this so please help. I bought my daughter a taotao 125cc go kart. It was used but in good condition. The idle revs up when sitting but goes to normal when I ride for few min. What could cause this. And I hear that some people have a three gear go kart. Is all of these suppose to have three gears. Thank you for any help.

To see if something is obviously wrong, to the trained eye.....

What Firemanjim said lol. Like the saying goes, a picture is worth a 1000 words!

I understand some fourms are a pain to upload pics. I find its easiest to use your smart phone and it does all the formatting and what not for you. File sizes do matter tho and that can snag you from posting pics.

Sorry for no pics. I will take some in morn after work. What do you guys need to see. Carb? Two more question. What is the smaller bolt near the oil drain plug that has the spring in it. I took wrong bolt out to change oil and the spring shot out. I replaced it though. Do these chinese go karts need the gear oil changed. If so where would that plug be. Thanks again for getting my daughter back riding.

Ok sounds good. Sounds like you removed the detent spring retaining bolt from the bottom of the case!
