Hey its me again the guy that knows nothing about go karts. Sorry for being annoying with these forume. So for the predator 212 the black screw how do i know how much to turn it to the right or left should i just tighten it all the way? Or what are some things that let me know that it is good? Is there a sound i have to hear? Also dont judge me for not knowing this stuff

I'm not familiar with a black screw. Could you post a pic of tour carb?

The idle stop screw, is usually on top of the carb where the cable attaches. It acts as a stop on the butterfly. Screwing it in will stop the butterfly from closing all the way. This results in a higher idle. Just like pushing the accelator pedal a little.

There is also an air idle screw. It is usually located on the side of the carb. It regulated how much air is allowed into the idle cuircit of the carb. It changes the fuel/air ratio. Setting it can be touchy. That has to be set with a little more care. We can help with that.

So which one are you talking about?

Think of clarifying your inquiry with a pic as a heritage type of thing; for future members and n00bs looking for the same answers... And for everyone else in the present time. Ooops, that just became the past.

Yeah i might of mistaken it but that black screw i tightened it all the way once and had no idea what it did because it would start and and once i hit the gas it would stop but onnce i screwed it all the way to the right it worked fine im not sure if its bwd to have it screwed all the way or not.

Me, I'd just turn it until the engine races as high as it will go, then jump on. This way, you never need to use your foot throttle, and are always getting the most out of your engine.

:D

Screw it in too far, and your engine engages the clutch, too far out, and it dies. So you are sitting here saying you have no problem with the clutch engaging while you are starting the go kart? This may be one issue, but I think the more you post the more 'issues' will be uncovered.

Well i recently bought a torque converter should be shipped on friday but my clutch overheated due to the kart i had i had the monco dingo kart and the bacl wheels are 18 inches so the clutch didnt have enough torque to move it and overheated after 2 days also will it screwed all the way to right be bad on a torque converter too?

Now you're catching on.

The torque converter will be a perfect match for that kart. So the 'right amount' of how much it [idle speed screw] needs to be screwed to the right is enough that the engine idles without engaging the torque converter and making the go kart creep forward (or in your case, lurch forward when you start the engine).

You will really enjoy the torque converter on that kart. Just make sure nobody stands in front of the kart when you try to start the engine with the screw turned to the right.

Another thing that goes well on forums... If you could please use punctuation and spelling your sentances... It helps break it up and makes it easier to read...

Not try to bust your chops... Just saying...

My bad bro never really use puncuation when typing. Especially since i gotta open up other tabs in keyboard on phone just to put a period or comma. I will try to put in future forums.
