I just picked up a go kart I would like to know the make of. My guess is that it is a streaker Kart based on some images I have seen on the net, but I am not positive. Would like to know the year also.

Thanks!

:welcome2:
it's a manco 415
http://www.amsportworks.com/pdfs/gokarts-minibikes/model-415/415_operatorsmanual_blackframe.pdf

against popular believe the "streaker" is no gokart but a mini bike :D

since the original decals are gone it's hard to tell.. I'd say maybe a FoxII (415-09)

[EDIT]
oh year.. IDK 1991-1995 or something

Prolly not an -09. Note the front bumper and drivers side bump bar on my Manco Red Fox2 415D-09:

Edit: Speaking of stickers- What are those DG stickers.....Is that a BMX thing or what?

Wow Thanks a lot guys! You're all certainly right about the make. It became apparent to me while I was reading up on some of the other posts on this forum. I liked your thread Half-breeder. Did you ever convert it to a live axle? I would be interested in some kind of tutorial for a live axle conversion for this go kart.

As far as the exact model. I had to pull the whole drive wheel off it just to change the flat tire it came with because the bolts were seized up. It appears as though the original color was red if that helps. Those front rims and tires are harbor freight specials which replaced rusty harbor freight specials. The rear rims will also eventually need to be replaced since they are starting to disintegrate. But I have no idea what to replace them with since the drive wheel has all these holes.

I'm sure I will have more questions, you guys have been great so far.

Yeah well- as I suspected. ....those HF wheels are crap. Go to gokartsrus and download a Manco 415 manual- despite the slight differences in the frame- almost all the other parts are interchangeable. Once you get the part #s off the manual you can shop the parts.

Welcome to the forum. .....

BTW: A few minutes posting a pic and a question of what you are going to specifically replace can save you money and frustration. .....

Yes more a skateboard thing I guess :D

Oh and I never said it's a 415D-09 (Fox II double pack)
it's a 415-09 (maybe) which has the exact same frame as the original 415
or the 415-062 Red Fox
(just black not red ;))

Those stickers are DC comics logo stickers. They have been plastered all over the Go Kart from the previous owner. I haven't done anything at all to the body yet. I just wanted to fix the drive wheel and run it a few times to see if there was anything else wrong with it. Its got a harbor freight 212cc engine on it which is all stock and looks less than a year old. I dont know the sprocket tooth count yet or the pinion on the clutch. All I know is that I weigh 240 and this bad boy hauls *** down the road with me on it.

Thanks for the info on it, Looks exactly like the picture Half-breeder attached. Only difference is mine doesn't have the friction brake bar. Half Breeder - I need to move the gas pedal over cause it's killing my knee when I drive it. How did you manage to move it over?

With that said I am not 100% sure what I'm going to do to it yet. Do I restore it (strip/paint/new/wheels) and sell it to get myself a Go Kart with a live axle? Or do I chop this one up and make it what I want it to be.

Also looks like the rear end is very slightly bent down, is that fixable. I'll attach a photo once I take it out again.

This is my build thread on my kart... feel free to copy/imitate to your likings... I 'personally' think it would be AWESOME if someone liked my build enough to copy it weld for weld... cut for cut:thumbsup:

The previous owner probably cut your scrub brakes off(I kept mine for emergency brakes... they still engage, if the primary's(band-brake) fail. This is the thread that will answer your question... n possibly future ones as well...FYI, it dont get interesting till #16 post.(there 'should' be a mounting hole on the far passenger side, outer frame rail... gonna have to cut the guard out to use it for a pedal mount).

I too had the same dilema...

All Im gonna say is... the kart frame was 'designed' for street/smooth surface riding... by a child...lol(I myself 'being' "fun sized", I can 'just' get away w/ not being 'too' big for it).

Yes it 'can' be fixed(heating/bending/prying/measuring/welding probably required)... but IMHO, getta live axle ASAP... 1"x40"(or as close as possible to 40"). Just remember when swappin to a 'live axle' youll have to get a minimum of ... an axle, bearings, hangers, flanges, locking collars, and hubs n wheels... minimum... then relocate the motor mount... n get a sprocket... sounds like alotta work(n I guess it was), but that's half the fun of a hobby... assembly/fabrication/upgrading. I saved myself alotta math/work by fusing rearends from another kart... here.

BTW... PLZ fill out your profile fully.... ty

Thanks!
That's a lot of cutting and welding. I have never touched a welder in my life. It might be worth learning how to do it though.

My cart does have that hole on the other side for the pedal. I do need to cut that guard off to use it though.

Oh man, you're right.... why would anyone put shoe stickers all over this thing.

Because DIY stickers weren't available yet......

Weird- That is the the same logo-but it's also a DG logo....so now I'm really confused. ....There are 3 entities attached tho- IIRC...the shoe designer's initials were DG.....and it was designed by Design Group.....I need another beer....this is hurting my head....

I have attached more images of my Go Kart. I have since removed the stickers. The one on the steering wheel revealed the Manco Logo!! I have also removed the foot bar from the passenger side front to accommodate my big feet better. Some of the pictures I attached of the rear. I think there may be a slight bed on just the drive side axle peg. Have a look...

Also I am looking into some hop ups for the engine, however some websites ask if this is a newer or older Predator engine and say to look at the valve cover. Is there a way to tell which version of the engine I have? It looks like it could be an older style (pre 2013) but it's so clean I'm not really sure.
