So im gonna build a go kart 1- because i want one and 2- my bro and parents think im stupid and i couldnt build one, well i'll prove them wrong. Anyway im only looking to build a small single seater and it doesnt have to be fast it just has to work and look good, not tatty. Single wheel drive, band brakes, smalll 5 hp motor. I have some designs on paper but i would like some other designs so i can choose which ones are best for me.

Any help appreciated, cheers.

Azusa Clone

I wanted a traditional style kart that looked good but would not requre a lot of complicated welding. I really liked the Asusa kit because it had a strong simple double frame and not a lot of b.s. Asusa Engineering show a small drawing with enough dimensions that you can scale the rest up on the last page of their downloadable cataloge.
I used 1"box 0.07 in. box extruded tubing and it MIG welded up slick. To keep everything all lined up when welding I used a small picture frame clamp to hold everything square. Simple and I know I have a proven design.

Cheers for all the help, i'm gonna go with some plans I saw on a 'how to build a go kart' pdf. The only thing now is to find a small engine for cheap enough. I wont be able to start until spring now due to exams and the fact i would do alot of the work outside.
I will be sure to post some pitures of the build as soon as I start but that will be in quite a while.
