hey guys, i just purchased a spindle set from gokartgalaxy.com and i was wondering, if anyone has this kind, if it really matters which ones left and right because for my setup it would be ideal to have the spindle arms pointing towards the rear rather then towards the front of the kart. so i was just wondering if i switched up the sides to get the right orientation if it would decrease performance?

thanks

I have my arms pointing towards the front, however the majority of people have the arms pointing towards the rear. It should work fine, and it doesnt matter which way you do it.

If i remember correctly, caster, camber, ackerman, and KPI are all set to 0* on those spindles.

in less technical terms, your spindles will work fine with the spindle arms going to the rear of the kart (AKA, "trailing spindle arms").

Those are the Azusa spindles and they are really designed to work in any orientation.

Caster and camber can only be set depending on how you weld on your spindle brackets.

In some applications Ackerman becomes a real problem with these spindles if you try to use the stock holes in the steering arm. We have corrected that problem on several of our carts by simply welding a piece of 3/16 strap stock onto the arm and drilling the tie rod hole where we want it for the correct ackerman.
