Go Kart Axle

Anyone know how to remove a rear axle that is inside the frame? It has the sprocket next to the left wheel, and it all spins when I turn one wheel. Should I hammer it out or is there something I should do?

Oh you have one of those Baja karts with the monoshock suspension and the hanging engine. Looks to be a Baja Dune(DN65) kart to me.

Thank you SO much for helping me identify my go kart. I've been trying to find out what cart it was to find manuals and parts but I'd come to dead ends.
