My 87 manco dingo, bought it for $50 with a seized motor, bent everything and broken welds, welded it up made some spindles motor freed up with pb blaster and a ratchet. Now the CVT is crappin out and needs help I had it in the 50s (ungoved 5hp briggs) till the driven came apart and messed up the spring. I cant decide if im gonna sell this thing to buy/build a better one or fix it the rest of the way (new rear end and a big snowmobile engine).

I wish I had something like that.. I live in a small town and have TONS of trails.. 100s of acres.

My racing gokart will only touch the road and there are tons of cops where I live.

Only karts around here like that I've seen for sale start at $500..

Well I bought it from a kid who didnt understand the concept of checking the oil level. It was sitting in his pole barn and I offered him $50.

Hmm, IDEA, mount a 300cc Hirth snow engine(have) with the trans that it came with but put the 1" bore driven(also have) DIRECTLY on the axle for simplicity. Might be a bit slow off the line(fixable by adjusting for higher rpm engagement) but it should go 100 (100mph on a barbie cart for those interested in assisted suicide). That would make a fun cart.

Belt changing would be a PITA...And if you hit it on a rock youd do some major damage.

Well after inspection the driven is 3/4" so I will have to use a jack shaft setup(have 2 identical one is a Suzuki with disk brakes). I was gonna put a 292 twin in this but i think the 292 single will be easier to mount.

Tried that but the little weedeater clutch just didnt have the grab power. the barbie car is now ALMOST toast all front end welds broke, steering badly mangled, but I have a backup with both electric motors still intact they turn over and should run. Overvolt anybody? Im thinking a couple used motorcycle batteries wired for 24 volts, starter relay for switching, single speed deathtrap.

The motors would fry almost immediately. :surrender:

Darn, 5mph just isnt fast enough. In other news, while reading a michigan car inspection sheet, i realized that any step though riding lawn mower (no shifter between legs) can have lights, a windshield, and a seatbelt added and it becomes street legal and registrable as a car. It would be hilarious to pass people on the highway on a slightly modded mower!

The barbie cart was some funny @#%* - My son says you shoulda "leaned into it " :) ouch - the reason we dont need universal health care.

When I was being towed he couldnt get me off it.

1. I was leaning hard, sometimes on 2 wheels
2. I have 60 lbs on the guy and the cart cant pull me up the gravel hill.

Nobody got hurt, wearing a helmet, t shirt, a HEAVY hoody and old jeans was good enough protection.

You'd have to really gear it low or overrev the engine... But that'd be sweet :D
